Due to continued growth, ADS Laser Cutting is seeking a highly motivated Assembly Operative to join the team.

Role Overview:

The Assembly Operative will be responsible for assembling components for a variety of products. The aim is to ensure effective and efficient product builds and the timely delivery of high-quality items to customers, in accordance with company processes, standards, and operating procedures.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and other manufacturing instructions to assemble products according to design specifications.

Identify and select the correct parts required for assembly.

Assemble components and products in line with the drawings and quality specifications outlined in the job pack.

Utilise a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out tasks such as drilling, riveting, and fastening.

Inspect and test components and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Report and address any defects or issues with components or products, collaborating with team members to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

Meet daily and weekly production targets and provide regular progress updates to the line manager.

Maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality output.

Keep work areas organised, clean, and conducive to efficient operations.

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:

Experience in assembly build work is desirable.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings is desirable.

Familiarity with hand-powered tools is desirable.

Precision and accuracy in work, with a commitment to minimising waste and delivering high production output.

Manual dexterity and comfort in using machinery, hand tools, and small components.

Self-motivated with a flexible and focused approach.

Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.

Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems.

Benefits:

40-hour working week: Monday to Thursday 06:30–15:30, Friday 06:30–12:30

Hourly rate: £12.50 to £13.50 depending on experience
