Role Overview

This role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a minimum of two years' experience in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, or product development. The successful candidate will be a key member of the engineering team, responsible for designing, testing, and refining high-security doors and systems to ensure they meet the highest quality standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components for high-security doors, ensuring alignment with performance specifications.

• Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth design-to-manufacture transitions and resolve manufacturing issues.

• Support the creation of technical drawings, product specifications, and prototypes.

• Conduct functionality and durability tests on door systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve design or production issues during manufacturing.

• Work closely with the R&D team on new product innovations.

• Maintain accurate documentation of engineering processes and updates.

• Provide technical support to internal teams and clients, addressing technical queries.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining high-quality standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

• Minimum of two years’ experience in mechanical design or manufacturing, preferably in sectors such as construction, security systems, or door manufacturing.

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing techniques.

• Knowledge of high-security door requirements is advantageous but not essential.

• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.

• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly involving metalwork or security products.

• Familiarity with product testing, certification processes, and industry compliance standards.

• Understanding of structural design and load/strength analysis.
