Due to continued growth, ADS Laser Cutting is seeking a highly motivated CAD/CAM Programmer.
Role Profile
The CAD/CAM Programmer will be responsible for producing high-quality and dimensionally accurate engineering drawings and CNC programs for the manufacture of sheet metal in line with client orders and specifications.
Job requirements
Key Responsibilities
Create accurate CAD/CAM profiles in accordance with client requests/orders.
Generate CNC programs from those profiles that promote efficiency in laser time and material savings.
Produce manufacturing drawings for press, fabrication, and assembly operations.
Modify and update CAD/CNC files as required in a timely manner.
Maintain good housekeeping and ensure proper drawing control of programs.
Communicate clearly with clients regarding order requirements, remaining professional and approachable at all times.
Create bills of material to be submitted to the purchasing team, ensuring that all components for an order have sufficient resources for completion.
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
Essential:
Strong understanding of 2D CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or TruTops.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and sheet metal developments.
High proficiency in MS Office/Office365 products, particularly Excel and Teams.
Ability to remain focused and maintain concentration throughout a project’s lifecycle.
High level of attention to detail and quality of work.
Good communication skills, both internally with colleagues and externally with clients.
Honest and positive attitude to work, with flexibility regarding procedural changes.
Desirable:
Experience with Trumpf CAM software (not essential).
Critical thinking and innovative problem-solving ability.
Passion for delivering high-quality work.
Interest in building a career within a fast-growing business.
This position is 100% site-based.
Benefits
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 DOE
